sometimes i find dmm freezes and grays out all options to tweak mods on or off, I fix that by moving dmm to other folder (only the exe) and it will run a setup again generating new configs but your modlist and mod stays in the cache/game folder, a nice way to flush dmm and maybe useful in your case.
